Dr. Adam Maxwell was born and raised in Ottawa, KS just southwest of Olathe, down interstate 35. Growing up he enjoyed playing sports mainly football, basketball, and baseball; it is that love of sports that led him to Chiropractic. It was through his own treatment that Dr. Maxwell was able to see how chiropractic care could help athletes perform at the highest levels, while decreasing injuries, and speeding up injury recovery time. Dr. Adam Maxwell attended Cleveland Chiropractic College here in Overland Park, KS and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Maxwell and his wife are expecting their first child; when Dr. Maxwell isn’t practicing, he enjoys spending time on the family farm, hunting, fishing, and watching the Royals or the Chiefs play.

Before joining Advanced Sports & Family Chiropractic and Acupuncture Dr. Maxwell had been running his own practice in his hometown of Ottawa, KS. It was exciting to be able to help the members of his community and athletes from surrounding colleges return to play. At Maxwell Chiropractic he treated athletes from Baker, Ottawa, and Emporia State, ranging from wrestling, football, baseball, and soccer.

Dr. Maxwell specializes in a variety of techniques that allow him to diagnose and treat every patient with a unique treatment plan. These techniques include Diversified, Flexion Distraction, Activator, and a variety of physical therapy modalities and functional rehabilitation techniques. Dr. Maxwell is also SFMA certified, a protocol designed for injury prevention in athletes. With this certification Dr. Maxwell can use a variety of functional assessments to determine any biomechanical week spots, abnormal mobility or motion patterns that tend to lead to an injury. A specific plan in then given to fix any flags that arise from the assessment.
