Poor Posture is one of the most prevalent epidemics today. When someone doesn’t maintain good posture, their back muscles strain against the vertebrae and constantly attempt to pull them out of alignment. The physical manifestation of bad posture can vary from person to person.

In this video we will be demonstrating a therapy tool called the Posture Medic, along with a few exercises that are meant to strengthen the back as well as encourage the user to maintain correct posture. Bad posture can affect anyone regardless of age if you’re not maintaining proper posture over time, poor posture can leas to a loss of function and deformity in the spine. If your experiencing back pain, bad posture may be cause.

The posture medic serves multiple purposes, it can be used for strengthening, stretching, as well as a corrective brace this therapy tool can be used by children from 8 years old all the way up to 80 years of age.

Utilizing the Posture Medic as a Corrective Brace & Therapy Exercise Tool

Step One – simply place your arm through both sides of the Posture Medic, with the brace of the PM in the middle of your back. This will serve as a reminder to keep your shoulders back and your back straight.

Step Two – Stretching your Chest by grabbing both sides of the Posture Medic, rotate your shoulders so your arms are behind your head, and pull apart to stretch your chest. Don’t overextend yourself, remember this is a light stretch.

Step Three – is a strengthening exercise, called a Rear Delt Fly with arms positioned out in front, elbows slightly bent you simply pull apart. Do this for about 4 sets, 10 reps, or what feels comfortable to you.

Step Four – when your done simply put the brace back on for a constant reminder of proper posture and continue your normal day to day routine

These are only 4 examples but not limited to. The Posture Medic therapy tool comes in many variations of resistance to fit each patient’s strength stretching needs.
