MENOPAUSE

Menopause is an event that occurs as our body estrogen and progesterone level are low. The hypothalamus is a complex structure in the brain that is responsible for controlling the production of these hormones based on signals it received back from the reproductive organs via the nervous system.

The hypothalamus is just one of many structures, but it is the first response team and helps to regulate many very important processes in the body such as:

  • Emotions
  • Sexual Desire
  • Thirst
  • Hunger
  • Body Temperature
  • Regulate your diurnal rhythm or sleep patterns

What can Chiropractic do for you? Chiropractic focuses on normalizing the function of the nervous system allowing all organs of the body to send and receive messages with the brain. These signals help to turn on and off certain processes in our body. When the nervous system is not able to function at its fullest these messages being sent from the reproductive organs to the brain are limited. This can cause an exacerbation of the symptoms many women experience with menopause. These signals are transmitted and often are interfered with at the level of the spine. A chiropractic adjustment normalizes the structure and function of the spine as well as the nervous system helping you have fewer signs and symptoms.
