WORK INJURIES

Did you know that neck and back injuries account for over 90% of the injuries that occur during work? These injuries can restrict mobility and often interfere with normal functioning, making normal work activities a daunting task. Doctor of Chiropractic are not only qualified but specialize in the treatment of these specific types of injuries.

Not only do work related injuries limit your ability to do your job safely and effectively, but they can also limit production, placing even more stress on your ability to perform at your best. Our goal is to efficiently relieve the cause of your problem, not just mask the symptoms, and get you back on the job. But that’s not most important aspect. We also place added emphasis on not only getting you out of pain, but transitioning through therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation exercises, and ergonomic changes to ensure that your body’s safely ready to get back on the job. Neglecting these steps can lead to future injuries that may have been prevented.

A Commonly Neglected Symptom: [Numbness & Tingling]

A frequent ailment that patient’s often neglect is signs/symptoms of numbness and tingling throughout the extremities of the arms and legs. It may be as small as inability to feel specific regions such as the feet or toes or even decreased grip strength with the hands when grasping objects. Even though they may seem like “no big deal” these symptoms may be indicative of further problems within the nervous system itself. Usually there’s an underlying condition such as a subluxation “a misalignment of a vertebra”, disc herniations, or muscle tightness/spasms that can irritate the nerves creating these abnormal sensations. Without proper care these symptoms can manifest into more and more aggressive pain and can lead to more severe problems down the road. Although ice, over-the-counter anti-inflammatories, and rest may manage the pain, the underlying condition may still be present.

At ASFCA, our doctors not only get excellent results treating these types of conditions, but we also aim to maintain a health/wellness approach that can prevent future injuries from ever occurring. In treating the underlying condition, we use a variety of tools including chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue techniques, rehabilitation exercises, intersegmental traction, e-stim machines, ergonomic support, and nutritional supplements to ensure that the treatment is designed to your specific needs.
