SUBLUXATIONS

Subluxation is a term that has been used for hundreds of years by the Chiropractic professionals. When a Chiropractor refers to this term they are speaking of a joint between two opposing bones that are not able to move through all ranges of motion normally. This indicates that the joint is restricted and therefore the body sends signals through the nervous system that tells the brain that there is a problem in the joint. The body then responds by tightening up the muscles that protect this joint while your body tries to restore normal motion in the joint. When the Subluxation is not removed over time irritation in the nervous system sets in and the problem continues to worsen. Without motion proper motion in the joint degeneration or arthritic conditions begin.

Subluxation can occur as early as the birthing process and is often the result of cumulative micro traumas our body experiences every day. It can be something as simple as missing a step to more severe cases such as a car accident or head injury. The world we live in today is full of activities that our body is not always prepared or designed to do day to day.

Chiropractic manipulation is a specific technique that is used to restore normal function in the joints and reduce or even eliminate the long-term effects of Subluxation.
