Dr. Porter grew up in central Kansas. After high school he attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence where he earned a bachelors degree in economics and business. He worked as an assistant manager for Walgreens in the Kansas City metro after college. Upon having pain from the physical nature of his job he sought out chiropractic care. This alleviated his pain and allowed his body to function better overall. This experience helped Dr. Porter to find his true calling as a healer.

He then looked for chiropractic colleges and discovered Cleveland Chiropractic College in nearby Overland Park, KS. Based on the college’s excellent track record he chose to attend and earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland. He learned about acupuncture and how complimentary it can be to chiropractic so he studied it as well at the college. Dr. Porter is nationally board certified in Chiropractic and Acupuncture.

The techniques Dr. Porter studied while at Cleveland included Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, MPI, Graston, and Webster. After graduating he studied Activator technique and became proficient at delivering it. He practices acupuncture with the traditional needle technique. While in practice he has treated sports injuries, auto accidents, rehabilitation, and can provide nutritional advice. He has worked with traumatic brain injury, pediatric, and geriatric patients.

Dr. Porter opened his own practice in Lee’s Summit, MO upon graduation. He was in private practice for 10 years on his own before joining the ASFCA family. Dr. Porter lives in Lee’s Summit, MO with his wife and son. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and being outdoors when the weather allows. He is a sports fan and roots for his undergraduate college KU, the local Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals. His wife attended the University of Missouri and grew up in St. Louis so she is a Mizzou and Cardinals fan. The rivalries between their teams keeps things interesting.
